One idea is to bring those tracks in as a nested comp and apply track effects to the comp. The whole thing is then layered with the other tracks you don’t want the effects applied to. That is, if I understand what you’re looking to do…

Personally I’m more comfortable in AE building flashy (no pun intended) graphics, so I’d create something cool there first. Then embed the clip into Flash, which is where the interactivity is built. The whole thing goes out on the web as a SWF file. For the DVD loop used at conventions or whatever, just use the AE clip. Obviously there’s some amazing Flash artists out there, but I’m working on a piece for my company to use on screens at conventions that is all AE because I prefer it over the look of pure vector graphics. Everyone’s different so I’m sure there’s other opinions on how to go about it.

The movie doesn’t start playing at all for me. I’m also on a very fast connection so not sure where the problem is.

Check out Videoguys.com. I bought the upgrade from them and they were throwing in a $50 ShuttleXpress gratis. I’m not familiar yet with the ShuttleXpress and may never use it, but hey, a $50 gizmo that might be really cool, and it was free.

  • Wasn’t Natural Born Killers shot with a lot of projected scenes behind the actors? Maybe you should skip the GS altogether. Put together your montages beforehand and project them during filming. I don’t know if a white sheet would work for rear projection, but if so, you could even have the sheet waving a little for added effect, or something of the sort.

    My 2 cents.

I’ve never heard of this before but it sounds like possibly a hardware issue? Is it your playback device?

I concur on the 2407. I use dual 2407’s and never, ever lack real estate to spread things out. They look great, too, so you can’t go wrong with them.

I pre-ordered Production Premium a while back so, like everyone else, have been anxiously awaiting the shipping date. And nucleo pro is on the list as well. Whatever I’m ultimately granted budget-wise for a machine, it’ll be a huge jump from where I am now.
