shouldn’t bug fixes be provided of “old” software or it would not be fit for purpose when purchased 😉

November 24, 2014 at 6:18 pm in reply to: Favourite Deinterlace method?

I have a sequence edited form ProRes422 1080i50 clips ( originally captured from HDV deck in AvidMC exported as prores to a lace thunderbolt SSD drive) , which I am trying to deinterlace using BCC 8.3 with the latest PremierPro CC on a 2011 i7 MacBookPro with Yosemite 10.10.1

I am getting many crashes if I try to add to all the timeline clip.
Any that I render (preview files same PRORES) I get many glitches, some with wrong colours, others with parts of the frame inverted, or whole frames inverted, usually a couple of glitches every 2 sec or so.
After adding the BCC (no timeline colour to red line) the computer gets very slow and often completely crashes resulting in a automatic reboot.

I have an aja io xt, but get the same problems whether its connected or not.

    Any ideas?

As an update I have been using aja io with thunderbolt with media composer 7 and premiere CC with current drivers without any problems.
On one occasion thunderbird “totally” disappeared from by 2011 MBP, drive, aja and monitor, but a reboot sorted it.

Thanks, I did uninstall CB using the uninstaller with the latest version first but still have the problem that it crashes when run.

What should I manually uninstall to get a machine “clean” for CB.

My own laptop has avid (MC7 with ama), apple (FCP7, FCPX) and adobe CC software for out on the road use with U2 and SxS and XDCAM broadcast decks

Would any of the software for these need re-uninstalling for CB?

It would appear to be a bit hit and miss what needs installing for the above.

Is there a definitive list of up to date software for the latest Mavericks?
Any a definitive list of files to “remove” / uninstall first?

    Thanks Steve

my content browser 2.2.1 ( fresh download install and serial number added, registered) hangs on start on a 17″mbp OS 10.9.3 mavericks, hangs on startup, beach ball have to force quit.

I’m just getting software upgraded for an OB next week.

Is there an SxS driver that works in my express34 slot ( no cad to check at moment)

    Should it work?

    Yes I was ML
Strange that “old” xdcam transfer works!

It is very confusing loading all the xdcam software for avid, FCP, and adobe, as well as drivers, on the mac

    Thanks for your quick reply.

Ive just had to re-install my mbp, installing mavericks 10.9.1 and ire-nstalling apps etc from my time capsule.
I have needed to add many serial numbers and drivers which did not install.

I have installed MC7 and Adobe CC from scratch.
as well as latest XDCAM drivers ( and SxS but I cannot test this)

I can see my U2 (updated to latest V2.320 firmware) on my desktop.
    Avid AMA can access it,
as does XDCAM transfer in my old copy of FCP7

I have just installed Content Browser 2.2 ( V2.1 worked before my upgrades, I tried this and it also crashed “application not responding at start up)
I put in my serial number which was accepted.

However when I try to run CB I get the right hand browser window, and an immediate spinning beach ball ( with and without an XDCAM disc inserted.) The application is “not responding” and has to be force quitted.

Have you got an idea what I may have “forgot”

    Thanks Steve
