Aja io tx any idea of when io drivers for avid mc7.03 and mavericks will be available?

Anyone using the new avid with aja? What problems do you have?

    Is it useable?

Try alt-x to extract to source monitor, then move to position and command- v to insert source material ( with appropriate patching)

Source remains so can place at multiple locations.

  • The LAN feed is the problem

I have not found what avid is looking for but disconnecting (either physically or in software) the network during avid boot “solves” the problem. Been with me since mc v6

  • Just change your project settings to the appropriate HD, then the capture tool will offer hd resolutions dependent on the HD format.

Capture then change back to sd, you can then insert the HD material into an ds timeline.

This works the other way around to import ds into an HD project.

CDs record at the highest level they can get away with whatever the genre, so as to get the best S/N

I usually find reducing the music import by 12db is a good start.

September 30, 2013 at 6:56 am in reply to: MC7 background transcode and relink workflow

I have a similar problem where avid mc7.02 thinks that my 1080p25 clips are 24.98 fps (pal land)
The AMA clips have a green dot when edited into my 25 fps timeline, how do I transcode these as avid “thinks” they are at the wtong frame rate.
Previous version ama consol commands to force AMA qt to 25 do not appear to work.

    Steve

  • The trouble is that it us not meant to be mixed frame rate but true 25fps. FCP QT show as 25′ it’s avid which shiows as 24.98.
In mc6.5 the above console command forced avid to see it as 25, but as I said this does not appear to work with mc7.02

    Steve

  • I have a vio POVhd head cam which shoots, h264 1080p25′ however avid shows this as 24.98 fps, in mc7.02 SetAMAQTForcedFrameRate true 25.00 does not seem to work to set the AMA “import” to 25 fps

So if I try to transcode, I get a information box telling me the frame rate us not consistent with the 25fps timeline and will be unable to link back to the AMA….. The whole point of AMA and mc7 I thought?

I also suggest you look at head and tail, I use this feature all of the time.

One time saving use fir extend us if you have multiple tracks you want to all start/end at the same time, an extend on all of the tracks ave having to zoom right in and adjust separately

We do it with live sport events recorded into our Isis all of the time on our avids.

Not sure how sophisticated you need to get with present hardware?
