you just set up a raid with disk mirroring in the OS. It is under the administrative tools setting.

The numbers are closer to 250%, but everyone that has posted is correct that hd keys going out to sd look better than dv to dv keys.

I would get a Xena HS since the next version of premiere I’ve heard will support it natively.

I would do it with an apr of 1.2. that way, if they have a widescreen display they get the maximum quality. If their DVD player is so old that it doesn’t properly display widescreen material then that is there problem. I’ve never seen a dvd player that didn’t recognize widescreen dvds that I’ve created with premiere/encore. That’s with probably 100-200 different dvd players, so there could be one out there that doesn’t recognize the flag, but I haven’t encountered one yet.

If quicktime is installed, then premiere should be able to read almost all of the mac codecs.

Noise reduction works great in audition if you have a sample of room tone. Just curious, in most situations it actually works better to just “lay down” room tone under a whole scene so that room tone doesn’t change with each cut.

Basically to clarify my question after thinking about it more, here goes. If space isn’t an issue, what is the best resolution to shoot 24 or 30 p footage? 720 or 1080? From the previous responses I would think that 1080P would be superior to 720P. Is that correct? Obviously if you shoot 1080, you lose the ability to overcrank at 60, but couldn’t you just switch down to 720P for that? How well do 720 and 1080 mix visually?
