May 26, 2006 at 4:15 pm in reply to: Intel G5’s?

If you need it now, buy now. As always Apple, does have a grace period. Although not that long, you do have the option to upgrade. When you have AppleCare/ProCare, they are a little bit more accommodating.

You will not be dissaponted with a Quad G5!

May 25, 2006 at 6:11 pm in reply to: PowerPoint Presentation into a FCP 5 project?

I have no insider information. It is just my prediction.
If you need a laptop right now, get the 17″. That is the most bang for the buck.

As far as the towers, I would wait for the Intel.

    Good luck

May 24, 2006 at 6:10 pm in reply to: upgrade to 5.1 from 4.5-not clear how to do it

Do the Cross Grade. You get the entire suite for $199.

Before installing 5.1, rename Final Cut Pro 4.5. This will allow you to use v4.5 if you need to.

The update worked for me on Apple’s site.
Try this link. Change the Apple ID and enter your serial number.

FYI, I updated my Powerbook to 5.1.1 yesterday and all is well. ALL plug-ins work and I have a lot. Boris Red, BCC, DFT, etc.
