It is not Apple’s responsibility to keep you organized. They are not your personal maid/butler. Just like your house, you have to make your bed, put your clothes away and keep your house clean.

You have plenty of options using your system to keep you organized.

To do what you want, buy a 60GB HD and put your OS and FCP on it. On another HD all other apps you want. On another HD put your media files. On yet another HD, put any other files you feel are needed. To me, that’s less organized.

My one system drive with OS and ALL apps and other internal external HD’s have worked flawlessly from version 1.

Only you can determine you workflow.

If you are concerned about losing your files, make a clone of your hard drive. Obviously onto another hard drive.

The Universal version will be a full version of FCP Studio version 5.1. When you install the new software, it will ask for your Serial Number/s for FCP v4.5

Hey Pat,

What a coincidence, I just attended my University’s radio station’s 25th Anniversary.

I would break the file down into smaller sequences. From the smaller sequences, add your markers.

In order to make seperate audio tracks on a CD, you will need to either create individual sequences or set in/out points and export selection to aif.
For label info, copy and paste marker selections.

I believe I own every plug-in built for FCP. You never know when one of those plug-ins comes in handy. My favorites are DFT’s 55MM and Boris’s BCC. Use them but don’t abuse them!

How are you going to monitor your output?
If you are going to work in HD, you need to work with the right components. Capture card, HD monitor, etc.

All your appplications must be installed on your system drive. Supporting Media files from Live Type, Soundtrack Pro and Motion can be installed on an external drive.
