  • Upgrading my FCP 4.5

I want to upgrade my 4.5 to the new Universal, so they want me to send in my original install disc. Two fold question here: Is the disc they are sending back a full install disc or just an upgrade to my 4.5? And what if my powerbook was to be stolen or ruined, if the disc they send me is only a upgrade disc then what do I do if I need to load FCP on to another powerbook I get? If its only an upgrade disc I’m screwed.

    Hi,
The discs that they will sent is the full version of Final Cut Studio (Universal). So you don’t need to worry if a bug happens and you need to reinstall FCP.

If you are concerned about losing your files, make a clone of your hard drive. Obviously onto another hard drive.

The Universal version will be a full version of FCP Studio version 5.1. When you install the new software, it will ask for your Serial Number/s for FCP v4.5
