I am using FCS2 shooting with XDCAM EX1.
Mac Pro 2×3 GHz Quad-Core Intel.

I am working on a 90sec project. and whenever I try to export the movie as a quicktime (480×270). it says it’s going to take 3 hours. When I used to do this same project in SD (720×480) it only took about 8 min. is there a special way I should be setting up my project to export/render faster??

Have you tried the Slide or Push transition? Or like Tom mentioned above, create your keyframes and save them as favorites.

SupaWipe is also an incredible plugin.

Tripod plate comes with the tripod not the camera.

Make sure you get a good tripod and not a cheap consumer one.

Select QuickTime for your format on your FS. Raw DV is for iMovie.

18pt is very small for tv. I would suggest 25pt or higher or you might want to try a thicker font.

Brian,

You have to make sure that your sequence setting matches your footage. The easiest way is to select Easy Setup in FCP.

If you can, convert your avchd footage to match your DVCPro HD footage.

Yes, you need FX Factory. You also need OS 10.5.
