If there are any other assets like graphics and music, you would also need those files. Being organized makes your day go a whole lot easier.

Not all greenscreen footage is created equal. It’s all in the lighting.

Why are you using capture now? You should log your clips (set in-out points) and use batch capture or capture clip.

Glenn you gave Dennis to much information. He will never learn how to do things on his own. If he was having a problem, I can see an explanation. That is why there is a Basic FCP forum. Professionals should know the process.

January 22, 2009 at 3:59 am in reply to: HPX170 users out there/going from dvcam to hd

I can give you some advise. I switched from the DSR-300 to the HPX-500. I also have the HPX-170. If you are used to a shoulder mount camera, you want the HPX-500. If it’s not in your budget or you don’t feel you will get your investment returned, the HPX 170 is an excellent alternative. You will need a support for the camera. DVTEC makes an excellent support. As far as quality, it’s not going to be apples to apples. HPX-170 is very good in low light with an excellent dynamic range. You will need a lot more light compared to the DSR-300.

F11. The manual explains the exact steps. Hint, do not use in/out points in your timeline. Set in point in your browser window.
