July 7, 2013 at 11:33 pm in reply to: workflow for feature using multiple cameras (C300 and DSLR) and sync soundPlural Eyes from Redgiant is what you want to sync your sound. It will save you hours of time trying to sync it manually.
https://www.redgiant.com/products/all/pluraleyes/Make sure each shot is slated and use a clapboard at each take.
Transcode your footage first. Make sure your Audio frame rate is EXACTLY the same as your video frame rate. Same goes for both cameras. Same frame size and frame rate.

July 5, 2013 at 4:13 am in reply to: Understanding time line settings/ different formats of videoThere are acquisition codecs, editing codecs and delivery codecs. FCP works best with editing codecs. As mentioned, these are in the easy setups.
Unfortunately today, there are far too many codecs. Each has its own algorithms to compress as much data as possible into a video file. The lower the bit rate, the more compressed it is. H.264 is by far the heaviest compressed. H.264 was meant to be a delivery codec.

Regular SD cards are recommended for emergency use only. If you do use a regular SD card, make sure it is a name brand. Delkin Elite and Sandisk Extreme is what you want to use.
The difference between Intra 50 and Intra 100 is full raster.

You are asking a lot of questions that would take a very lengthy response. Your best option to educate yourself is to visit AJA’s website and read the specs and manuals on their Kona and I/O products.

In my many years of broadcast, I have never seen such damage. The whole connector would have to be replaced.

You never said how you converted your VHS tape. You need to specify your sequence settings and system specs.
