This setup will never give you the proper output. There is a huge difference between a Computer output and a Broadcast Video output. That is why it is necessary to have some type of I/O device such as AJA, Blackmagic or Matrox.

Get the PowerPoint Presentations from the ones that did not give them to you. It will make your workflow much easier. Make sure your slides are video safe.

Personally, I would keep your sequence as ProRes422. Color grade in Resolve Lite. Your final export should be a Self-Contained QuickTime Movie. Use the Self-Contained Movie to convert to other codecs for delivery (h.264, M2v, etc.)

  • I don’t have the full specs of your 13″ MBP, but graphic cards do have their limits.
Firewire is not the way to connect a second display. VGA, DVI or display Port should be your options.

July 13, 2013 at 6:20 pm in reply to: 24.97fps??

You can not export directly to 25fps. What you need to do is export a QuickTime Movie from FCP and bring that into Compressor. Once in Compressor, you can choose the export codec you need and manipulate your frame rate. Your other alternative is to get the Nattress standards conversion plug in to do this in FCP.

July 12, 2013 at 2:48 am in reply to: Exporting hour and a half project for a DVD

The answer is in the manual (very detailed). Export a reference movie drop that file in Compressor and choose a preset for DVD.
