Hi Jiri, finally dumping your incite system then? FCP certainly plays nice with XDCam HD and you do get lots of RT with it, you can even edit whilst it’s still importing clips if you have a fast Mac. It will certainly be cheaper than an Axio, I’ve always used BMD cards with very few problems.

If you’re getting a Kona 3 you won’t see any difference in picture quality unless you hook up an HD monitor to it.

You need to try and immerse yourself in some research on the subject.

you cannot judge picture quality in any way by looking at the picture in the FCP screen, you HAVE to use an external HD monitor.

Are you talking about the picture on the FCP viewer or do you have a broadcast monitor connected?

AVCHD support added to FCP!

I’ve seen one of the prototypes and spoken to the guy in charge of the project. It’s going to be something very special I think. He wouldn’t tell me any details about the chips but he had a BIG smile on his face and told me I’d be very happy when they were announced.

Because the 1/2 inch XDcam HD cameras have already been accepted for full production by Discovery HD, then in theory this camera should be also. Making it the smallest camera available for full HD Broadcast production. For long form Documentary filmmakers like me it’s going to be fantastic.
