I just upgraded to FCP6 Things in my world was good, too good! I had a deadline with a simple Photos to video program We snapped together and were ready to EXPORT. I get ready to submit in the Compressor 3.0 and It tells me TO RESTART your computer to assure correct install….
WTF I read apple help line… Should be Apple don’t want to deal with line. I have to reinstall. Trash compressor and the reinstall.
Look I am a user of this product line not a geek who sits down in the basement and avoids girls and let alone life. yes I have a tan. Can any one just give me a simple step by step how to fix this?

FCP6 cannot live with other version of FCP installed.
It was suggested to install first other version before to install the new one.

I’m not sure this line is going to get the “geeks” rushing to help you!

Here is an update. Once I finished the task of exporting commands from FCP6.0 to Compressor. I would get ready to submit! Once I hit submit it would say, Please restart your computer to reassure correct install.
I talked to an Apple Tech for 3.5 hours we went through some different ways to correct this. The problem was the cluster button was giving no value. I could not ask it for another desination? We end up going into apple preferences and opened QMASTER. There was 3 selections to pick
CLUSTER AND SERVICE, Cluster, Service only? We changed from service only to Cluster and Service. I worked. Apple guy was very stummped He said we shouldn’t have to do this but he also said and some people have it on the install disc and some people don’t. Expect this to be on the 6.1 upgrade fixes.
    Now back to work…

by the way the “I have a tan” comment was a complete joke. I am as pasty white as fresh snow on christmas morning. I haven’t enjoyed the outdoors for 6 months. I was trying to say I know I am not a computer geek. I have other things preoccuping my mind. I just like playing with this expensive toy.
