May 31, 2007 at 3:39 pmColor alone is worth the full price of a new version, so an upgrade is well worth it. If you work with Motion and STP there have been major improvements to those and they are worth the upgrade price.
If all you do is stay in FCP and don’t really want to do more than 3-way CC there have been some nice improvements to the app but the main buzz is what you can do outside of FCP and roundtripping in and out to the other apps.
Anyway to slice it though you get a great value for a $500 upgrade.

May 31, 2007 at 3:42 pmI’m cutting a show right now in 5.1.4 and it’s driving me crazy because I keep thinking about all of the features that would save me 5 minutes here or 10 minutes there.
Plus Color and Motion 3 for $500, it’s a no brainer. It’s just a question of when you should do it.

May 31, 2007 at 4:00 pmI’ve been working with it for 2 weeks now, and no bugs or crashes for me. Workin’ like a champ. I haven’t dug into Color yet, as I opened it and without learning it, it looks nice, but complicated.
You’re going to have to update sooner or later, might as well be now!
