January 29, 2014 at 9:05 pm in reply to: Adding new clips to an existing event folder already (automatically) named on a previous import…Just wanted to update on this thread… Placing new clips in a finder folder that has had clips previously imported and importing again into an existing keyword collection DOES duplicate the clips that were there from the first import in the keyword collection…
Brett, thanks for the tip on ‘drag/drop’ from finder…

January 3, 2014 at 3:16 pm in reply to: FCPX>Share>YouTube “Invalid username or password”, now “YouTube Acct Migrated”… Solutions? To clarify, this means if I try to upload something to YouTube when I’m on the road I might need to add whatever IP address I’m currently on to the ASP process?

“It sounds like you are using 2 step authentication.”
In the Google account, yes with a 2nd email address I believe…“You’ll need to generate a special password in your account”
Generate special password in the Google + account? Or another account? Can you direct me to which site/page I’d find that on? (If there’s link to a step-by-step on this that would be great…) Thanks ~~ Steve Underwood

November 28, 2013 at 1:44 am in reply to: New 15″ Macbook Pro with FCPX 10.1, processor choices and speed questions…Thanks for weighing in on this…
The 13″ maxed out is of interest as well… (2.8GHz dual core, 16GHz Memory).
Apple store rep, (a good friend) was saying that for editing, both the 13″ and 15″ would feel very fast, but I’d notice faster ‘batch’ processing (rendering movies, etc) with the 15″ (2.6GHz quad core, 16GHz memory).
The monitor size is not of much concern where I’ll be using externals. Trying to quantify “speed differences” may be impossible, but I figured I’d ask, because if the 13 will feel very close to the 15 in speed, I’d go that route. Don’t want to regret it though… Thanks!

Thanks for the ‘spatial conform’ tip. Another question…
I have a 1920×1080 timeline (created by dragging a 5D clip) that I then dragged GoPro 1920×1440 clips into. I then “Crop>KenBurns” to position them vertically, cropping off parts of top or bottom of clip or panning up/dn w/Burns effect. Is that the best workflow to retain highest quality of the GoPro clips?
And another… In creating a new “GoPro Only” timeline by dragging in a 1920×1440 clip (but wanted to crop all clips vertically to end up with a 1920x1080p movie, what’s the correct method in that case?
I’d appreciate any advice… Thanks!
