October 1, 2015 at 1:31 am in reply to: Converting Kickstarter project video from 1920×1080 to 640×480Thanks for the tripod love. Sadly, “upload your 640×460 video here” is there front and center on the upload box. Hard to believe they aren’t ready to shift to 1080p. Quite a waste… Hope to see you on next Tuesday 10/6 for ‘Pakpod’ launch… ~ Steve

February 23, 2015 at 10:49 pm in reply to: Share to YouTube to a specific channel, not to personal landing page? (Or: best ‘render recipe’ for best quality?)Thank you Claude. I’m not Compressor saavy.
If someone could confirm a good basic (simple) render recipe (as in Apple 1080p Devices of of FCXP>Share menu) I’d like to upload asap. It’s a 1 minute video. Would a master file get encoded to YouTube just fine for playback or is that asking for headaches? Thanks ~

Is this link from Bombich on how to clone an HD recovery partition a good path to follow for cloning my startup drive?

June 11, 2014 at 12:06 am in reply to: $300-400 monitor for FCPX ‘rough cut’ use w/new MacBookPro 12/2013 Tbolt/HDMI?John, Thanks for the recommendation. It looks like a winner. However, for a ‘off-the-grid weekend spare monitor’ I need to keep it simple and much less expensive. Anyone else weighing in?
