  • “…and command shift dragging not the same tool for vertically constrained movement…”

My shift/tool “drag the button” horizontally works here… what does “not the same tool” refer to? Can’t get vertical constraint… Tried shift/command dragging which isn’t working. Help? ~ Thanks!

  • Yes, The ’tilt’ reveals the true ugliness of the moire. There’s enough extra footage after the camera stops moving, so I’ll go with that.

It’s good to know about the “Gaussian Fix” as I have some older 5Dmk2 nature shots that have moire on a lesser scale, and I just tested it on a couple of those. It improved them a lot.

I’ll explore the gradient gaussian suggestion in Motion at some point. I appreciate the good advice.

  • A 5sec clip to inspect… It’s pretty bad…
    Don’t know what the camera/model was…

  • Andy, 0.5 settings on Guassian Filter helped, but the jitter is still obvious, just softer edged…

Bill, The footage was shot at 1080p, 30 fps, (same as edit size), so I’m not dealing with size conversion issues…

For the relative newbie, what’s the best way to paste in a 3 second clip url link for you to see? Post 1080p clip (uploaded to Vimeo Plus and “settings>make 1080P version”, then paste the link into next reply?

    If there’s a quicker/easier way, please advise…

    Thanks!

  • John, Thanks for encouraging me to try the easy and the obvious. Did just what you said and it looks very good viewed full-screen on Vimeo.

And someday, if my eyesight improves, I may be able to tell who the heck that is in your profile pic… 🙂

  • No, the footage is not shaky. Say I have a tripod shot of a scene that is 1440 high. I’m editing in a 1920×1080 timeline. So, I’d like a simple way to keyframe and gently pan/scroll ‘up or down’ to reveal the “extra area” of the shot, easing in and out of the move… Hope this helps clarify…

  • Every subfolder is named Best/Good/Okay already so, to clarify, I click on ONE lake name, (there are 50 lakes) let it import… and sort out best/good/okay with keywords or…

Dig into the 1st lake folder, hilite ‘best’, import, keyword name it “LakeName/Best”, then the ‘good’ folder, keyword name, (150 subfolders, 1 at a time). Sorry to need further clarification…
