I agree. The keyers that come with Motion are okay.
If you want an way awesome keyer check out Ultimatte. It comes with a heavy price tag though.
I personally find that the Chroma Keyer that comes in FCP works great. Export out the video as a Quicktime Movie – Animations set to Millions Colors +. Then bring it into Motion. However, none of my solutions help you out directly in Motion. I’m sure someone else will recommend some good keyers that work in Motion and have a free trial so you can check it out. Something like Primatte Keyer Pro 4.0. Hope this helps.

The two sliders can’t overlap. Meaning… if the Matte Density is set to .30, then the Noise Removal can’t go above .30. Hope this helps.

I’ve never done anything with blood before. Andrew Kramer, a famous Affter Effects guy has created a bunch of free tutorial that I think would help you. Unfortunately they are all Affter Effects but I bet it will get you going in the right direction. Check out #24 Blood Splatter amongst some others. Hope this helps.

Move your .pdf out of the group it is in and put it into a new one. It is probably getting cropped because the group it is in is smaller then the canvas size. Putting it into a new group will get it in a group the size of the canvas. Hope this helps.

Draw a Bezier mask around the image. For what your doing the Freehand mask tool might work better. Add the Track Points Behavior. Our Control Points will turn into Track points. Verify that each track point is where you want it in the Tracker Preview. Hit the Analyze button and your in business. This only works well with high contrasting images. Also, if it messes up you can move any of the track points once it’s done, not an easy task with 60 track points but still easier then doing it a frame at a time.
