You make a really good point. They should come with a Lower Third on the right and left.The only way I know how to do it is the old fashioned way. Luckily with Lower Thirds like the Weave-Lower-Third the text and lower third are in separate groups. In this case, select the “Arrows” group and change it’s Y rotation 180 degrees. That will put it on the other side. Then move the text. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Yes Motion is a separate app form LiveType. However, a lot of the features found in LiveType are also in Motion. Motion can do a lot more then LiveType can and LiveType is no longer included with the newest version of Final Cut so I recommend learning Motion. Hope this helps.

There are many ways to do this so I imagine you will see a bunch of different replies. For trophy case glass, not CSI credit open glass. To create the glare I would create a thin long shape shape with a large feather and drop it’s opacity. Maybe blur the content in the trophy case a bit. Not a lot. Maybe .5 percent. A great way to seal the deal is to take some sort of texture that would look like the the wall the glass would reflect and place it over the glass and drop it’s opacity really low so you have a slit reflection. Motion has some behaviors to save you time. To see an example of kinda fading in and out like a flame open up Motion and click on the Library tab. Go to Content, Gadgets, Vacuum Tube. Drag it onto the canvas and hit the space bar and watch how the light flicker. It has a Randomize behavior that is controlling that. You can take a look at how behaviors can effect objects and save you a lot of time. Hope this is what you where looking for. Best of luck.

[Dave] Since you have Motion, it’s time to learn how to do it in Motion. I’m an AE guy, but people who use Motion say it’ll do much of what AE can do.
Dave is right. I use both AE and Motion, and yes, this can be done in Motion with no problems. I think you will really enjoy the realtime playback on a simple animation like this.

As for Michael suggestion, in your Content Library in Motion you have an Aged Photo Frame that could work. If you just want a vignette type of feel add a feathered mask. Best of luck.

Motion 4 comes with 1459 elements for you to work with. Open up Motion, click on the Library tab, go to Content and enjoy.
Motion also has a bunch of templates you can always alter.

I have found that the more complex the project in Motion the longer it takes to render in FCP. When that happens you can lower the render quality. To do that in Final Cut Pro go up to Sequence, Settings. Click on the Render control tab and change the Quality to Draft or Normal. Make sure the “Always Use Best Quality When Rendering Movies” is not checked. When you like what you got I would recommend exporting a movie out of Motion and placing the exported clip into FCP, or just know it will take a while to render. Hope this helps and best of luck.

Or another way to do it with the same idea is to type out the text in one layer, make sure the text is white. Place all of the video clips in another group above the texts group and mask or crop the video clips so they don’t overlap into the next letter. Apply an image mask to the video clip group and drag the text layer into the Mask Source well. And then add a camera for the move or put the two groups into another group and move it. Best of luck.
