I’ve had great luck with the H.264 codec. I use compressor to compress it. I set the quality high to around 10,000 or so. It looks great.

In the Log and Transfer window look where you give the clip a name and type the name of the reel. There are two buttons above that called Logging and the other is Import Settings. Click on the Import Settings and un check the video check box so you can only import audio. Best of luck.

Check out the Ink in the Compositor’s Toolkit Visual FX Library 1 from Digital Juice. https://www.digitaljuice.com/products/products.asp?pid=760
And instead of a key I would do a Luma Blend mode, Just make sure your ink is desaturated so it is black and white. Best of luck.

Tim, I think Ultimatte Advantedge is the best keyer out there. I’ve never seen a keyer do hair or glass like it does. I use it more then any keyer. The company I work for owns two copies of it. Considering how much it costs we would not have purchased it if I didn’t think it was the best for what we do. I’ve messed around with the Ultimatte RT and feel I can’t get the same results as I get with the Advatedge. My comments on slow rendering and no video tutorials was not a slam. Like all programs I’ve used, they have stuff I would like them to do that they don’t, and that is why we keep getting updates and new versions of software. Based on your response I’m guessing you work for Ultimatte, keep up the good work and feel free to contact me about other items that would be great in the next version.

You can get SD cards cheeper at Amazon then at Best Buy, at least the one by my house. It needs to be class 6 if you want it to do HD. I don’t have my manual with me but I know it takes SDHC cards. Hope this helps and best of luck.
