blue screen during transitions, blinking footage, other
I have a simple clip. Two lines are used. Line V1 is the testimonial, V2 is the small watermark in the left hand corner. As the testimonial fades out I have a luminance transition but a blue screen appears in 3/4 of the screen. Any idea what is causing this. Never had this issue before.
footage: 1920 by 1080, music is .AIF, pictures are jpeg. Filters on the main clip are magic bullet stabilize and soft edges.Example of the clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsn9C-eAypE
I went ahead and took off the luminance and even hide the line with the jpeg. When I stream the footage (timeline screen grab is attached) the footage blinks when the opacity starts to decrease.I have no idea what is going on here.

Looks like the problem lay in Red Giant’s Stabilize filter. I have 2.53 core 2 duo, 8GB RAM. I tried to use the magic bullet looks filter and was told that my hardware couldnt handle it. Anyone else having issues with this suite?

Does the blue happen on the testimonial track or the bug track? I assume Looks was on the testimonial. You might try nesting the clips and then fading the nest.
Do you see flickering if you apply a dissolve rather than keyframing the opacity? Is the video interlaced or progressive and what’s the frame rate? How are you monitoring? Is this for broadcast, DVD or web?

it happens on the testimonial track. I haven’t tried nesting or using a effect fade, but I really think the problem lay in the stabilize filter since when I removed that the clip acted correctly.
I am monitoring with a 22″ samsung LCD, 1680 by 1050 via DVI. It’s for the web. Would love to compress this stuff to 640 by 480 and work with the footage at that resolution (would probably allow looks to render), but FCP makes me render everything at that ratio. 720 by 480 doesn’t have the wide screen look that I want. Any advice on that end (besides getting one of those new 12 core mac pro’s coming out…can’t wait for that). Thanks for your input.
