In FCP add a Reduce Banding filter to the clip and see if that helps.

Effects, Video Filters, Image control, Reduce Banding.

Duplicate the clip so you have it in your timeline twice. Use the Bezier tool on the top clip and create for points that are on the four corners you want. Add the Track Points behavior to the mask. Click Analyze and the mask points will track what you want. Add the blur tool and you are good to go. Best of luck.

Round tripping is much easier.

Select the clip or clips and right click on it. Choose Send to Motion. Add graphics and save project. Then go back to FCP and you will see the clip has been changed to a Motion project file and is updated. You don’t have to export out anything if you don’t want to. Best of luck.

It depends. It would be better if you show a specific look you are after. However, I find that most “news” type graphics are 3D graphics. So they are built in a 3D program like Maya. If you want to do 3D graphics take a look at plug-ins such as Zaxwerks Pro Animator FX.

Make sure the Image Mask and Mask Source is in the 2D group and it will not animate with the camera.
