Just search the forum for “renderfarm”. On the other hand, network render just works with rendering formats, like AVI – not with encoding, like H.264 or MPEG.

You are describing the Rotoscope process, which Vegas doesn’t do. You might be able to do it in AfterEffects, or if you have Photoshop try exporting the scene in a sequence of stills, use Photoshop to remove the background of each image, then re-import back to Vegas.

There’s a few things that cause this, including, that you don’t have enough memory. But 2GB of RAM on an XT system should be more than enough.
This sometimes happens when you have a large JPG or PNG image on the timeline. You can also get this error if your pagefile RAM is badly fragged, but rebooting should fix that. Also, a hard-disk more than 3/4 full can also cause this because there may not be enough contiguous space on the hard disk for your pagefile to swap out.
Try making your pagefile a fixed size. This way the Windows pagefile management wouldn’t be able to generate this error, and you would see a tiny improvement in disk performance. You do this by setting the min and max pagefile size to the same value.
If you are running Norton Antivirus, then you have a resource hog on your hands.

I use a free program called: Levelator. Here’s a line from their website:

I use it on every production and continue to be amazed how much better my audio tracks sound.

As John said – what do you think is wrong?
The biggest problem I saw was interlacing artifacts. When you do the final encode, make sure it’s progressive.

You would be surprised how many drivers are loaded on your PC – even the most bare-bones ones.
I use Driver Detective to keep my drivers up to date. On my day-to-day PC (not my editing PC) I have 94 drivers. 32 of them are system drivers and the rest are hardware drivers.
