Put the timecode F/X on its own track. When done, delete or mute the timecode track.

I have been using Vegas since Version 3 and I can count the number of crashes on one hand. Mostly self-inflicted. If your PC is up to the task and not loaded with gaming codecs, you will likely be OK.

The idea was to break down the problem to find the root cause. Not to finish the project without knowing what was wrong.

That is almost ALWAYS a case of overheating. Open the computer up and clean out the dust bunnies. You can run CoreTemp to see how hot your CPU is getting.

I didn’t know you could put timecode on an MP3 file, but I did make the MP3 file from Vegas. How did they read or display the timecode?

I’ve only had one client to want a transcription of an interview, and they had me send an MP3 file to a transcription service. I don’t know or care how they did it since the client specified and paid directly to the transcription service. I did get an edit list from the client based on the transcription, and it was interesting that the transcription included time points.

You mean the movie studios? It’s called the script. But you still need an editor to correct the off-script text from the talent.
