Posted by Paul Gilmore on March 17, 2012 at 1:13 amWhy is it when I render a project that is longer then 30min Vegas pro 11 crashes! I finished a wedding it’s 54min and at about 20min Vegas continually crashes and wont go beyond that when I try it again!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

March 17, 2012 at 1:15 amDo you have 2X your project size free on the project drive and the temp drive?

March 17, 2012 at 1:18 amI have had so many issues with pro 11 it isn’t even funny… I would hate to spend the money for the upgrade and then having to revert back to pro 10 which I’ve had no issues with…

March 17, 2012 at 1:57 amIs it possible to break the “render” into multiple parts, and combine later? If so, break it into thirds, then try the middle section first (the one where your render always stops).

March 17, 2012 at 2:05 amWhat file format is your video, and what are your render settings? Can you successfully render something less than 30 minutes with the same render settings?

March 17, 2012 at 2:05 amFirst, since it always fails at given point, I’d make a Region around that area and render that region. If it fails, then splitting into parts won’t fix anything.
If you were to render to (eg) avi (uncompressed) or mov (photo-jpg), then you could probably combine the files together and re-render. I wouldn’t expect much loss in quality from the inital renders.

Have you tried rolling back/forward to an earlier/later of SVP11? With SVP10, I found using the 64 bit version got me across the line.
I have to admit I do all my paid work on SVP 10c, as I was having issues with 10e and plug-ins from fbmn software. I have a stable configuration and keep to it now.
I got a new video card specifically to take advantage of CUDA rendering in SVP 11, but what a disappointment that turned out to be. I had to DISABLE the acceleration to get the job done. wtf!?!
Whilst there are those on this forum who say that this is all part and parcel of progress, when it starts to impact your livelihood, that is a lame excuse (to accept substandard quality).
My system specs: Intel i7 970, 12GB RAM, ASUS P6T, Vegas Pro 10e (x32/x64), Windows 7 x64 Ultimate, Vegas Production Assistant 1.0, VASST Ultimate S Pro 4.1, Neat Video Pro 2.6

March 17, 2012 at 4:33 am@Angelo File is captured from Sony FX7 which shows to be mpg … Render settings are MPG2 It comes and goes.. sometimes I can render more then 30min, sometimes less.. guess it depends on what Vegas feels like doing
@Tyson That is what I have experienced… splitting it does nothing except create more work..How would .mov or avi look burned to a DVD? I always thought DVD was mpg encoded?
I cannot revert back to SV10 since I am working with a SVP11 project and I do not want to spend countless more hours editing this 10hr. wedding. If I can get this to work then yes I will be reverting back to SVP10 since I never had an issue, and hopefully Sony will release some updates soon to correct this!
I agree.. when you’re a business and a professional you should not down grade your work just because it’s easier..

March 17, 2012 at 4:36 amWhat very strange is, I opened up another VP11 and selected all the project copied and pasted it onto the new Vegas window and everything works great now… whats that about?
