The default bitrates are good for videos less than 70-minutes long.
AC3 files are what the DVD wants. You can send a WAV file but it is much larger than an AC3 file.

I think it’s working exactly right. Everything outside of the image of the girl with the guitar is black. It’s multiplying the left side by zero. Nothing there. Black. Multiply any image with black and you will get – black.

You may have to make an intermediate of the girl standing and expand the background to fill the frame.

Compositing modes are pretty standard and work the same in every editing program I’ve used. I am not familiar with the “fill behind” feature in Photoshop, but it could be an additional compositing feature unique to Photoshop. Can you use Photoshop to mock up a sample of what you want to do in Vegas.

These errors tell me that you just dropped the media into DVDA and expected DVDA to recompress for the disc.

Since one of the errors says the bitrate is too low, then the media is probably AVCHD. (I’ve never seen other formats generate this error, but that doesn’t mean they won’t).

Are you making a DVD or Blu-Ray disc?

Either way, make the DVDA compliant files in Vegas using the DVD Architect presets then DVDA won’t have to recompress anything.

Error 1603 means that you’ve used the automated online registration too many times. Call CUSTOMER support (not Tech Support) and they can usually reset it for you.

Vegas may have opened the file but not closed it before Windows crashed.

While every track and bus has it’s own individual FX chain, I don’t think there’s any way to do a sidechain in Vegas. What were you trying to accomplish?
