error messages are -“The remote button action of ‘Glenns Intro’ uses the most recent menu command before a menu is reached. It will link to the top menu or stop if no menus.
Track 1 ‘Video’ in ‘Glenns Intro’ cannot be recompressed because its bit rate is too low.
Track 1 ‘Video’ in ‘WHAT IS TRUE LOVE?’ cannot be recompressed because its bit rate is too low.
Track 1 ‘Video’ in ‘START DRAMA’ cannot be recompressed because its bit rate is too low.
Track 1 ‘Video’ in ‘SELECT SCENES’ cannot be recompressed because its bit rate is too low.”
2 of the menus have no video at all- just a background picture??
Where do I go from here – Please?

Have you fiddled with the bit rates setting?

These errors tell me that you just dropped the media into DVDA and expected DVDA to recompress for the disc.

Since one of the errors says the bitrate is too low, then the media is probably AVCHD. (I’ve never seen other formats generate this error, but that doesn’t mean they won’t).

Are you making a DVD or Blu-Ray disc?

Either way, make the DVDA compliant files in Vegas using the DVD Architect presets then DVDA won’t have to recompress anything.

I use a sony avchd handycam, which ive used and editted and burned before without these error messages. I editted in vegas. I did a 2 pass redure, 1 under “main concept mpeg-2″ I picked dvd architect ntsc widescreen video stream. 2nd pass under dolby digital ac-3, I actually tried both but noticed audio levels higher under ” stereo dvd” – so picked this one. I loaded dvd architect brought in the drama, added a simple menu and scene selection menu and got error messages. I followed above procedure last week with my hawaii trip video and it burned no problem. On the drama I imported a wave audio file to replace the original soundtrack which is the only difference I know of and shouldn’t make a difference, I believe.
I don’t know how to play with the bit rates as steven rhoden suggested and is it necessary?? Thanks for your imput

The default bitrates are good for videos less than 70-minutes long.
AC3 files are what the DVD wants. You can send a WAV file but it is much larger than an AC3 file.

Ill try to respond to each of your statements.
1-The default bitrates are good for videos less than 70-minutes long. -my video is 66min – so default is good.
2-AC3 files are what the DVD wants. You can send a WAV file but it is much larger than an AC3 file-in vegas i rendured the audio under dolby digital ac-3 – so its been changed to ac3.

Now the error message that dvd architect gave are all on the video (right?) so how do i solve the video errors based on what I mentioned I have already done?

Just to let any who cares know, I went back to vegas, did not use the 2 pass redure method, I used the make a movie button, chose dvd and no menu, and burn. It rendured and sent it to dvd architect. I checked it (in dvd architect) and it looked good so I added menus and burned and it worked with no red error messages.
