    I think I need to try Handbrake, have read about it, but never used it.

    Do you know if it can provide a missing EOF?

    Thanks,

    Stev

    Thanks Jorma;

    Well, I tried build 453. Less stable than 428. I then tried the latest from MAGIX, 545. Even less stable! It crashes within minutes while doing simple editing.

    One good thing, I can open up the Vegas 13 projects I was working on in Vegas 12, which is very, very stable.

    At present, MAGIX support is maddeningly clueless. Just like the old Sony support! They don’t read the questions, and when one replies with the question again, with pertinent parts highlighted, they STILL don’t answer.

    Very disappointing. Until they start giving better customer service, they have lost me as a customer. Sad, because I have been a staunch Vegas fan since 2009, and have been championing Vegas over Adobe for the entire time.

    Yes, that is build 545.

    Anyone know if 545 is more stable than build 428? I’m nervous it will make it worse, that’s why I started this thread.

    Thanks,

    This software will “fix” it so that it at least can be imported, but the resultant file has dropouts, stutter, other problems.

    The GoPro Studio program caused huge problems on my Windows 7 machine. I forget what they were – I had to struggle for days to excise it from my system. It broke other programs in a very subtle way and was a total cluster foxtrot. I think it was related to the codecs it installed. It’s never going back on my computer.

    I can open the damaged file fine in lots of players, just not in Vegas.

    I sent them an email, waiting for a reply.

    I have 545. Is it more stable than 428? 428 crashes every time I exit.

    Thanks,

    Hi Paul;

    Thanks, any ideas how you could get them to me? Perhaps post them to Google Drive and send me the link? (Not sure if this violates any copyright or CC rules).

    I’m interested in builds 444 and 453, please.

  • Hi;

    John, working on my 1st big SVP 12 project. Running build 770. Having a similar odd problem with the audio portion of an event not following the video portion if I click on the video and drag the event to a new track.

    I have multiple tracks, each consisting of pairs of video and audio tracks. I’ve made sure that the video and audio portions of the events are grouped. (in SVP 11 I would have bothered with this, trying everything out of desperation). The “Cut, Copy and Delete Grouped Events” is checked on. Ignore event grouping is not enabled.

    It is very annoying to have to ctrl-click both the audio and video portions of the event when dragging to another track. The problem only happens when dragging to a different track, moving left/right in the same track, the audio and video portions of the event stay together.

    grrr…..

    Sorry about the delay in responding.

    I confess it has been so long since I fiddled with the settings, I not able to provide a cogent answer. They vary depending on the render – MainConcept, Sony AAC, etc. I suggest you experiment with the options, and test against the “red car” benchmark until you find the ones that work best.

    Good luck!

    Hi;

    Steve Rhoden’s suggestion does the trick. Have to restart Windows, not just Vegas.
