Ok, I’ll weigh in on this.

Play the footage back on a crappy TV or monitor with the color way off, then re-shoot it. Voila!

But the easy way to do it, as has been mentioned, is with one of the effects in Vegas designed for this.

Sounds like what you want is a standard split-screen effect. There are thousands of hits on Google for how to do this in Vegas; this link has not just a video but some written instructions.

Glad my guess panned out.

I have a project that I am still working on for over a year. I am using a lot of Huffy and odd things for timelapse in it. I noticed that some of the material would shift in size ever so slightly – just a few pixels. After much pulling of hair I realized I had that mismatch.

I need to dust off that project and finish …

I was about to buy a Samsung 840 a few weeks ago. In the store I did some quick research and found this:

Norman, this is fascinating. I don’t doubt your analysis, but where did you learn that?

Because I am worry-wart, I often use “best” and even 32-bit Floating Point for Pixel format. Yes it takes forever, and I have never noticed much difference. Lately had been relaxing and leaving it at 8-bit.

But this resize thing of which you speak makes me want to know more.

Just a guess … did you make sure your size in Project Properties exactly matches the source material size and also the render settings?

I’d like to get Premier CS6 just to have it handy … but I will NEVER drink the Creative Cloud kool-aid.

About 7 years ago it was my disgust with whatever version of Premier was current that led me to switch to Vegas – at first it was lowly Movie Studio! I have never regretted it.

Heh … Now I know why your signature does not have your specs! It would make it too long.

System 3 seems pretty fast. It has the GTX 650, which is Kepler I think – have you tried pulling the old Asus HD 6770 out and trying it? I’d be curious to see if it speeds up renders. But I know that it would be a pain to do that, might break something.
