    Hello
I filmed a clip where me and a friend are sitting allmost right beside eachother talking in the phone with eachother. So my question is how can i make a vertical line betweeen us? and does anyone know how to make it look like this… Only one shows in the start and the other one gets like bumped in from the side and now there are 2 people on screen with a line in between them????

    Thanks for any help.

hi! one thing you can do is make 2 video tracks on top of each other, and edit from there. what you would have to do is mask a box around one person on the phone, and mask another box around the second person. you can then alter the spacing/sizing to make a black line between you!

another option is that you can add a color layer (just make it black, if it doesn’t already come as black. If it is red or some other color and you want it to be black, try using color corrector or black restore to make it black). When using the color layer, make sure that it is on top of the clip and not under it! then, you can stretch it or mask it into the thickness/shape you want and then place it on top of the clip!

i hope that helped!! sorry if i didn’t explain it very well. my sony vegas isn’t working very well at the moment so i couldn’t open it and tell you what the specific buttons look like.

Sounds like what you want is a standard split-screen effect. There are thousands of hits on Google for how to do this in Vegas; this link has not just a video but some written instructions.
