    Hi,

I’d say it’s a framerate issue but i’ve just tested it with a volume meter i made a while ago. I can nest it to any framerate – still synced.

You may want to try my projectfile(ae7):
    https://staromedia.com/web-content/Player.7z

The psd template of the player is a freebie from the adobe exchange center, the audio is from absoluttracks.com(free but not for commercial use).

PS: You may get some error mesages because the expressions are written within a german version of ae. Some layer or effectnames are may be different in your language.

Late? Early in the morning i’d say 🙂

For the text effect: click on Aharons head on the top of the forums navigate to his great Ae podcasts and look into the horror text tutorials.

You could take some dirty looking fonts and add some motion with the roughen edges effect or use Aharons advanced method on a clean font destroyed with the… erm… liquifier(?) tool. The lines cutting the text are probably a masked adjustment layer with some of the wipe effects applied.

This sounds definitely more like a hardware issue than a software bug. Anytime I had such problems(complete system freeze) it was a wrong connected hard drive, crappy pci cards or some buggy drivers. Does it happen randomly or maybe after a fixed time period(overheating?).

Ok, it is possible. Then I can start searching the right buttons 🙂
I already thought about masks or motion tracking but that would be too much for such a simple effect.

Ah, thats the point. Didn’t know how to “extract” this extra data from a RPF render. What a shame I already rendered as tga.

    Thanks!

    Good idea reloaded.

Btw, is it possible to export an alpha channel for a single “object” or gr

August 18, 2006 at 5:49 pm in reply to: Suggestions On How To Increase AE Speed?

As far as I know the gpu doesn’t really matter. I have a nvidia 7800gtx beast here and if I switch to interactive-open-gl everything I notice is a slightly increase when working with layers switched to solo.

The solo switch can help alot when working with only 3-4 interacting layers especially in hd resolutions.

Another thing I would suggest when working in quarter resolution or draft quality: if you use masks that need to be 1-3 pixel accurate always check them in full res with best quality before rendering. That avoids alot of headache after a 8h render…

In AE you can use 3D invigorator from Zaxwerks.com as a workaround for “real” 3D objects. You can export them in Max as .3ds or .obj and have all the geometry in your composition. But you will lose all your materials/textures.

The easiest way seems to render the scene in max and composite it later in ae.

If someone knows how to export camera data from max to ae it would be much easier to add some 3d effects later in ae.

  • I’m looking for ages for a libary like that. Thanks for the link!

Just noticed that my flash player won’t play flv’s since theres no script to turn the playback on. Therefore you need to embed them into a swf flash file or play them with a player like VLC or Sorenson FLV Player.
