You should always encode uncompressed files for the best results. Compressing already compressed video might result in bigger files and unnessesary artifacts and stutters.

I use the video bundle(including flash 8) here so I can export directly to flv from within ae. It’s at File>Export>Macromedia Flash Video. Should be the same in the standalone version.

  • Hi jodal,

you can do it in audition, but with no appropiate compression(i think) only uncompressed.

If you have your audo exported, open it with quick choose>export>qt movie>unchek video>check audio and export it to AAC for example. AAC gives good quality at low bitrates, For web-audience I would choose ~160kbit/s for purposes 320.

When the movie is exported open it with qt choose edit>mark all>copy- Open your rendered movie choose>edit>add to movie. If your movie contains already audio, choose window>movie proberties and uncheck or delete the old audio track.

When you just save your movie now, qt will link the audio to the original audio file/movie. If you want to save the audiostream within your original movie choose>file>save as standalone movie…

PS: I use a german qt version and translated all the dialogs badly. I’m sure they are named different in your version. But you should find your way easily.

  • I don’t know what is used in common. But a quick and easy way to create 3d text or 3d logos out of illustrator files is the zaxwerks 3d Invigorator. You could even just create a cube and smack your logo as texture on the front.

Maybe a dumb question but: what do these cards do apart from capturing? Are they just there to encode HD in realtime when you render a project or can you even speed up previews within the applications(Premiere+AE)?

On the Aja website for the Xena HS card it says something about plugins for AE. Do this plugins contain effects/codecs or what is it?

This usually happens if you use trial plugins or codecs. If you see it already in the Ram-preview it could be a plugin/effect that is not yet activated/registered or the registration data is may be corrupted!?

    Hi Jack,

you can use the “Dualview” feature of the nForce driver to span your desktop across two displays. Just enable the dualview. Then goto nView Properties>enable desktop Manager>User Interface>Title bar buttons and check the Full-desktop maximise box and maximise your AE window across your two displays. Now you can arrange your workspace over the two displays. The dualview feature is very handy!

Greetings from the football infected germany and good luck in the round of 16 vs ecuador 🙂
