  • Hi,

    hmm, a minor update, yes…BUT:

    background rendering.. YES!!
    Ichat Theatre…YES!!!
Motion— TRUE 3D Feel… Finally bye bye to AE

Blu-Ray support… Ok – very good for the basics… Really Pro Software for Authoring Blu-Ray starts at 12.000 USD and isn’t much of an intuitive interface…

Still makes me wonder how much of snow leopard is implemented.
Snow leopard ships in 2 months. i don’t think will bring an update for some time now to FCS (NAB earliest although not very likely)…
So it has to be in there somewhere…

excited to see, and at 299USD definitely worth the price!

Sad that you still can’t have behaviours like throw etc from motion in FCP.
Roundtripping can be tricky some times…

And the Shake follow up isn’t there too…

    but, already ordered….

    Hi,

    found the problem:

    “Beam” Generator makes the trouble.
strangely in ram preview everything works,
but whichever setting i use, expoting in full
res an best or normal doesn’t work.

i think i have to render proxies for the beam effekt…

    sad but true…

or simply my x1900xt can’t handle the project.
will try with a new machine and a 4870 in a few dayz

    thanx

    Thanx for the help!

i already thought that this is the only way to go…
but do i need an extra plug pr can this be done with Automator or applescript maybe?

    cheers

  • thanx walter!

does leopard support raid5 with disk utility?
    i don’t know – but if not which software you’d recommend for a raid5?

    thanx..

    well,
i don’t think that 35mbps has to do with the sxs cards,
for in an expresscard slot copy times are 5x faster than realtime..
so there’s plenty of room for transfer/encoding speed…

to me i wonder why it isn’t possible to get 60fps at 1080 –
    at least over sdi.
these are progressive chips, and it’s possible to to 60i,
so the processors can be clocked to 60fps at 1080. Seems
that either the compressing chips can’t handle it, or Sony
simply doesn’t want it in a camera at such a price point..

    cheers

    hi,

problem is, that expresscards have 2 interfaces they can use (either/or/both)
    PCI-Express
    USB2.0

so all of the current usb adapters except for Sony’s, and pc-card adapters ONLY
    use the USB2.0 interface/bus.

Problem is that sxs cards ONLY work via PCI-Express, so it won’t work in these
    adapters….

SO: Sandisk SxS cards are coming out, and surely they’ll haver their own special USB adapter
    to work with….

    cheers

has anyone a usb bridge lying ’round to go for a quick test??
just connect the acmera to the bridge, see if it works.

December 15, 2007 at 4:48 pm in reply to: xdcamex 50fps…

    hi rafael,

yes fcp can throw the 2nd frame away for playback in 25fps,
but at least there has to be the possibility to make it decent slow-mo.
now i can’t make it play slowmo by using the data (50fps) recorded in a 25fps timeline.
it tries to blend every 2nd frame, although i have 50fps recorded.

    i simply don’t get it.

if that’s the proper workflow, fine, then i have to adapt.
but still to me it doesn’t make sense.

    cheers

    yep, but start stottering…

the only way it works is in a 50fps sequence set to 50%speed..

that’s kind or weird, isn’t it???

i’d expect that a file with 50fps put into a sequence of 25fps does either:

play back at half speed (25fps)
    or
is set to a speed of 200%

    but NEVEr NEVER NEVER

plays back at normal speed, set to 100%, and losing every 2nd frame not recoverable!

that’s a fault in their train of thought!!

    just my thaoughts 😉

    cheers

    well,
i know it comes bundled but i have never used it.
i just don’t understand why this doesn’t work inside FCP….
maybe someone writes a script just like it was done for
converting HDV 1080i into SD progressive at half speed..
