well on the “view” pulldown menu i was just trying to get an image to pop up on my LCD screen by selecting different settings which usually works with my deck (which I don’t haver right now) – i was just going to do a hard record…. also when i pull up the log and capture window it wont recognize the camera. it says “unable to intialize video deck” – the camera is on, in VCR mode and connected via firewire.

the render timer is gonna make me hate chocolate.

yeah now it says 2 hours…. so maybe i only have another hour.

So i did as you said and pasted the sequence into a new timeline… the footage looked fine but the still images that i’m using were stretched vertically – then i realized that the stills are the problem – when i put text over them and scale them the render times are horrendous – on the footage the render times are fine… so i guess these images are not the right size and that is the problem. Is there anything i can do or do i just have to suffer through it??

My render options are gone too… what’s up with this?

I’ve tried all of the above – except trashing the preferences… where do i do that??
the weird thing is – after i trash all the render files it’s not asking me to render anything!?!? There are no red lines. the footage in question is sped up and i don’t understand why?? -
I think i’m okay now… it’s capturing – and breaking the clips up everytime the camera is turned off which is weird.
I am using Firewiere. The deck is set to HDV/DV,
capture preset: HDV
devise control: HDV firewire basic
