    I am trying to capture a mini dv tape that is HDV… I have final cut 6.0 and a sony HDV deck. I am trying to find a capture setting/easy setup to use but i keep getting error messages. what do i do?? I tried the AIC codec but i’m getting no capture window…

    You’re somewhat vague on what you are doing. Are you going in Firewire? Is the deck set to HDV and not DV? What are the error messages? Are you trying to capture HDV native or in a different format?

    I think i’m okay now… it’s capturing – and breaking the clips up everytime the camera is turned off which is weird.
    I am using Firewiere. The deck is set to HDV/DV,
    capture preset: HDV
    devise control: HDV firewire basic

    That normal FCP douse that by default unless you change it.
