[Buddy Couch] “I am NOT an apple fanboi or whatever you like to call it. I am just saying relax and realize that Apple is working hard on addressing your concerns. Do you seriously think they are this blind?”

You know what, since you are so tirelessly defending apple, its about time you back up you statement with some facts. Because this BS theory full of assumptions is not working for us anymore.

Has somebody from apple written to you or spoken with you. What is it that you know, that we already don’t know?

“The creative person wants to be a know-it-all. He wants to know about all kinds of things: ancient history, nineteenth-century mathematics, current manufacturing techniques, flower arranging, and hog futures. Because he never knows when these ideas might come together to form a new idea. It may happen six minutes later or six months, or six years down the road. But he has faith that it will happen.” — Carl Ally

[Neil Sadwelkar] “For that matter if you’re in the market for a new FCP system, you can certainly go out and buy FCP 7… still.”

For how long? Its not available in App Stores anymore.

And whats the surity that FCP 7 will work with OS X Lion and other OS to follow? If FCP X is such a revolutionary rewrite why can’t somebody from apple come forward and lay out some kind of roadmap for their professional app development work.Don’t they have any moral or ethical obligation towards their loyal customer base?

[Mark Raudonis] “If the pro features we all know should be there are there in six months, I’ll know that I have a partner.

I think thats a very fair & practical call. 6 months is a good enough window for apple to show its seriousness & users to wait before they go their separate ways.

Seriously Dude! What do you expect people to say?

You may be an eternal optimist but at some point reality is gonna catch up with you.

  • [David Roth Weiss] “All of the bullshit about the features would be inconsequential if Apple mapped out their game plan. But they haven’t done that and have given no indication they see a any need to do so. Apple is completely out of touch.”

    Bulls eye David!

How come i have started agreeing with you so much?

I played around with the new FCP X for quite a bit today and I like what i saw. But the real problem is the way Apple has handled this whole situation. Firstly no proper release, secondly they took FCS 3 out of the stores and lastly Apple is not making their plans clear (as far as FCP is concerned).

It is utter choas at this forum right now. I mean i was a skeptic from the start but even i did not expect such backlash. But again, this mostly because of Apple’s silence & not FCP X’s features

[David A Fenton] “iMovie metaphor has been cool for a lot of things, but music video editing seemed way easier in FCP7. I hope FCP X can handle this task.”

    Is that a joke?

    Wat exactly do you mean?

[David Roth Weiss] “As our former Secretary of Defense once said, “There are knowns, and there are unknowns, and there are known unknowns and unknown unknowns. Apple is selling the later for $300 and getting people to buy a product on blind faith that doesn’t seem to do what we really need.”

My gut feeling told me, it had to be ‘Donald Rumsfield’. Googled it & there it was! Never liked that joker, only he could make such statements.

Btw: David, are you telling me you have not bought a copy of FCP X today?

[David Roth Weiss] “Come now, it’s a 1.0 release that’s been out since well before the April sneak preview. That fact that Apple chose to speak publicly about some things and not about others is certainly grounds for infuriating users and for calling Apple to task.”

    I absolutely agree with David.

Apple has not dealt with this release very well. Not even a proper presentation to release such an important product. There seems to be absolute chaos among editors right now. And just like after the supermeet, there is nobody to answer.
