Its funny how you chide the doubters when they interpret Apple’s silence on Macpro but when it comes to defending them you let your Imagination take a free ride.

So you sell a 2010 MacPro in 2012 and buy a new one, how different is it? Can it be really termed as an upgrade?

No. There would not be any quality loss. You have the choice of either trancoding to pro res 422 in the beginning before the editing or you could do it when exporting. However for color correction, its easier to do with Pro-res footage.

Another 6 months for FCP 7 and I am all Adobe then. Bought a License of CS 5.5 last year but was not very happy running it on a Mac Pro. Now I have a PC running CS6 and its a lot better! Its not what FCP & was but I guess we all have to live with some compromises.

Exactly what i have been thinking off late. People with newer Imacs and Macbook Pro seem to be getting better experience. I tried FCP X on my 8 Core Mac pro and results have been far from satisfactory. Playback seems extremely stuttery and skimming is even worse.
Good to finally find an explanation for this.
