Hi Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to answer my question. I thought I should let you know that I ended up discovering the problem. The AVCHD log and transfer process into FCP was being troubled by the presence of Perian on my system.

Once I removed (or turned off) Perian there was no longer a problem.
Your suggestions helped in the process and I appreciate your help.
Have a great day,
Simon.

Hi Guy,
A safe way to ensure you’ve copied everything is to use a free program called Carbon Copy Cloner. You’ll find it at: https://www.bombich.com/software/ccc.html
There is a provision to donate to the program writer if you wish. I’ve found this to be a great tool.
Hope this helps,
Simon Malcolm.

January 28, 2009 at 5:33 pm in reply to: Why does the frame rate drop on Flash movie playback? Thanks Jerry and bogiesan…You’re quite right…I discovered that when I exported a QuickTime from Flash as a H.264 the problem was rectified. Thank you for pointing out the potential issues with using the Animation codec in this setting.
It’s all fixed…I appreciate your help.

I have since discovered that FCP is actually exporting the FLV, but does not display the progress of the export as ususal…it just displays 0% progress which gives the impression that nothing is happening.
Does this highlight perhaps a bigger issue?
Thanks,
Simon.

Hi Tim, I absolutely loved the first episode and can’t wait for the next. Congratulations on being so well placed in the iTunes list. I learnt so much and the great thing is hearing people who are ahead of me talking about things that are really important in growing a business that will last. The area I am really trying to develop right now is also knowing how to quote properly and put together a positive, lasting impression with new clients that doesn’t leave me regretting the day I posted the quote. Anything you can find to talk about on that subject I think will be a great help. Thanks, Simon.

February 12, 2007 at 10:39 am in reply to: getting my idea off the ground without it being stolen.Hi Dale, I’m in Adelaide and am just in the same process you are in. I have a contact here in Adelaide who is getting me some names of people to speak to who know the right steps to take. I’m sure their advice will support what has already been said in the previous posts, however, they may be people who are slightly more accessible to you and aware of local law. I hope to hear of something in the next week or so. Feel free to email me at simon@memoramedia.com.au to see how things are going. Hope I can help somehow. Have a great day, Simon.
