  • Red not displaying correctly – vertical tearing

Posted by Simon Malcolm on May 14, 2009 at 3:05 am

Greetings all! I’m working on a project for a client and his logo involves red with the RGB values R234 G0 B37. In Photoshop this looks fine, however, when I introduce it into my DV PAL timeline the red tears up all over the place.

I then created an 8-bit Uncompressed timeline and the horizontal tearing was resolved but the vertical tearing is still present.

Is this just a red that will never work, or is there something else I can do?

    I appreciate any help…thank you.

    Simon,
    Australia.

What are you importing into FCP, a .psd, .tiff?

I would recommend .tiff, it may resolve it. If not, import the image into after effects, render out how many seconds you need as an uncompressed quicktime, then import that into that .mov of your image into fcp.

    Hi Clint,

    Thanks…I’m currently importing as TGA.

    Simon.
