  • Hi Rahjee,

Sounds like a compression issue. Try rendering with the compression set to low (or quality to high) and see if you still get the same issue.

  • Perhaps you could work around the issue by precomposing the layers and then applying time remapping.

    Tracy,

I think Dave means to look at the alpha channel. Toggle the button at the bottom of the comp panel to change from RGB view to Alpha only view. The black areas are transparent, white are opaque, and grey are semitransparent. You want as little grey as possible.

I think you might need Flash for this. As far as I know, AE only lets you render a straightforward animation in flash format.

I’ve had similar problems after using a different screen capture programme. Not sure what the issue was, but it seemed to render out fine.

The AE that comes with CS3 is, well, AE CS3.

    (technically that’s AE8)

    Hi Daniel,

You don’t want to draw anything on a null object. They’re not supposed to be for anything ‘visible’. Instead try drawing a line with the pen tool on a solid layer. You can then add the stroke effect to the solid layer and make it render ‘on transparent’.
