  • Animating a long object along a path with deformation

    Hi,

I have reproduced the CG Snake Tutorial and adapted it to my needs of animating a long object (kind of a catheter) along a path twisting around the corners which works fine except for that I cant work with changing speed of my object because then my pieces break apart or melt. Basically I am too dependent on the time factor with this method. I tried some deform filters but that is too much tweeking by hand so I wonder if there is any method of adjusting the breaking apart of the object when changing speed by expressions or if there is another way like pushing an object along a path in most 3d Apps??

Thanks for any hints in advance,

    Karim

Perhaps you could work around the issue by precomposing the layers and then applying time remapping.

Try adding a z line to the controller script. Just copy and paste the y line and change the y to z. Then add a ,z to the x,y line at the end. That way if you move your path in z space, it works.
