  • Draw on null object?

Posted by Daniel Landau on May 25, 2009 at 9:22 pm

    Hi everybody!
First time here for an AE student.

I would like to know if is it possible to draw a line on a null object.
Or, how can I easily make a line on a transparent layer.

I am sure it’s something very basic, but being a beginner I got stuck trying to draw to a layer in front of everything at a different angle that the other layers.

Any sugestion is wellcomed and thanks for your patience.
    Regards
    dL

    Hi Daniel,

You don’t want to draw anything on a null object. They’re not supposed to be for anything ‘visible’. Instead try drawing a line with the pen tool on a solid layer. You can then add the stroke effect to the solid layer and make it render ‘on transparent’.

Million thanks Simon, it’s just what I needed to know.
I know it’s a fair simple thing but your answer is what made it clear to me.
    All the Best.
