Nope. Only one viewer, and this can only be done one at a time. Just double click to the the first one into the viewer, then F9, the double-click to get the second one into the viewer, and press F9. No need to drag.

If you aren’t gonna get a tower then I’d suggest the Powerbook. It has minor upgrade ability with the PCMCIA slot for additional ports. I’d never recomment running professional software on an iMac, and never on a mini.
If you are getting professional software, use professional equipment.

#1, get Automatic Duck. That program converts an FCP timeline into separate clips in AE.

DV footage requires large amounts of data and many computations. In order to maintain frame rate and be viewable at a normal size, only about one-fourth of the DV data is used in displaying the movie to the screen. However, the DV footage is still at full quality, and is best viewed thru a TV or NTSC monitor routed thru your camera or deck.

Just to add confirmation…yes, edit 29.97.
23.98 is reserved for HD, DVD and Film. You should NEVER edit in a 23.98 timeline if you are ever going out to Standard Def tape.

How much RAM do you have? FCP prefers your machine have AT LEAST 2 GB.

To export your DV project so there is no loss in quality, simply go to the File Menu and select EXPORT>QUICKTIME MOVIE. Not Quicktime Conversion, fot this will compress the footage. Make sure the settings match your timeline settings, make it self contained and you are set.
Import that file into iDVD or DVDSP and burn.

The computers of today…ESPECIALLY Macs. They are the easiest.
And you are pressing one button to get the computer to self diagnose and repair itself…because it is comparing the code the way it is supposed to be, with the way it currently is. And if it differs, then it fixes it. Open you HARD DRIVE, open APPLICATIONS, open UTILITIES, open Disk Utility. Press Repai Permissions. You want it to be easier? Drag the Disk Utility to your Dock and when you need to repair, it is two click.
Capturing and editing video is NOT easy. Not a one button process and never will be. You want easy, use iMovie.

FCP 4.5 requires an AGP video card. Your computer doesn’t have one…its is PCIe.
There is a hack to get it to work…meant for older machine, but works for the current ones as well:

It’s like DISK FIRST AID. It repairs bad code in the operating system.
