    Hi list,

‘I am trying to insert edit from two difference tapes into the timeline. Normally F9 pops a marked clip into the timeline but with two tapes open I have to drag my clips onto the time line. Is there any way I have have two viewers open and F9 from each into the timeline. This dragging thing is given me a swollen wrist 8^).

    Warmest,

    K.

Nope. Only one viewer, and this can only be done one at a time. Just double click to the the first one into the viewer, then F9, the double-click to get the second one into the viewer, and press F9. No need to drag.

Thanks for posting back Shane. Pity there’s no way around that. It would be nice to look through two reels at the saem time and maybe be able to tab between them to mnake either active – that way I could see roughly what shots are matching as I go.

There’s a lot of wristwork inviled in repeatedly opening each clip into the clip too so it would definitely be a nice feature.

Again many thanks for sharing your knowledge.

    Warmest,

    K.

Final Cut 5 has a multicam feature. You could group them in that…OR…add them into a timeline and resize them and move them so that you can see both (the poor man’s multicam).

Multicam is the only way around your multi-viewer approach.
