Hi all I am pretty confused. I am shooting use this Canon camera at 30p.
    https://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=ModelInfoAct&fcategoryid=177&modelid=17384

It says 30p but I emailed Canon and they said it is 30p but 1080i interlaced.

I am capturing using 1080i 30p. So is my result 30p in the end after capturing?

Now regarding field render. It says upper field first obviously since it is 1080i. BUT I work only on the web do I need to do upper field first or can I leave it off? Will my rendering be sped up because of this?

    Thanks

Ok I am capturing from a HF11 which is AVCHD and using Pro Res to capture. My sequence is also pro res. when in AE I make my changes and export out of AE using Pro Res. I import into the FCP and plays fine no rendering.

My question is should I be importing out of AE using Animation? It will only be rendered in FCP anway so I should stick with Pro Res right?

Thanks Vince. Animation takes awhile to render. I should do some tests maybe regarding the quality.

I know in fcp it captures using pro res. And by rendering out the same from ae it plays in fcp timeline with no rendering.
I was trying to achieve the same thing

  • It is a AVCHD codec in Pro REs.

If I deinterlace will anything be lost? (It is only for desktop viewing?). I compared the pro res and animation and I am telling you a very small difference hardly noticeable.

By the way rendering anything using the dynamic link in Premiere from AE takes dreadfully long. Is it used to just see how it looks by scrubbing?
