Rerendering from AE?
I have a clip from Premiere I (I captured using AVCHD in Premiere.)
I brought it from Premiere over to AE did some FX and rendered out. One question is do I still need to do upper field first from AE even though the footage has been captured that way?
And second of all how do I render out? Animation? Pro Res?

Keep the field order the same. Although some choose to de-interlace in AE, I don’t.
Render to Animation, Prores is compressed.

If I deinterlace will anything be lost? (It is only for desktop viewing?). I compared the pro res and animation and I am telling you a very small difference hardly noticeable.

Yes, de-interlacing to reduce resolution.
You won’t see a big difference in quality going to Prorez, but keep in mind that your final export is what matter. Because it will likely be highly compressed, any prior loss of quality, such as artifacts and noise created by Prorez will be greatly amplified.
Your goal is really to keep the same quality throughout the production process.

Thanks Vince. Animation takes awhile to render. I should do some tests maybe regarding the quality.
I know in fcp it captures using pro res. And by rendering out the same from ae it plays in fcp timeline with no rendering.
I was trying to achieve the same thing
