can you provide info on where all these files are – its my understanding from reading this thread that one must delete these first then uninstall 7.0.3 THEN install 7.1?
any info would be great
thank you -
any update on this – i have seen this error at a studio i worked at the other week and was curious what the easiest fix would be for this error?

i have a new 12 core with 32GB (x4 8gb owc sticks) i run a variety of apps including AE & C4D (not all at once) but have beefed my system up for these core and memory hungry apps – i was under the impression that 24GB was the max and that i will take some type of performance hit for the setup I have.
I would actually love to understand the technical aspect of what is going on under the hood…hopefully I wont have to swap down to 24 to get decent function out of resolve on this system.

cool thx Robbie
sorry for my OCD on this whole thing – I really appreciate your help as well as the other guys in this forum.Wish you had a training coming out but looks like I’ll just have to sign up for the next semester at fxphd…maybe take both beginner & intermediate course offerings for Resolve, and then maybe throw in an apple color II or Intro to Storm as my 3rd elective.
have a great new years everyone!
best

if i try running Color with dual acd’s plugged into the 120 I see color opening and not crashing when i try launching…i understand that resolve needs the 285 for gpu so is the 120 to weak for color because it cant use the 285 at all? I like the idea of a switcher but have never used one myself – is there one you guys might recommend?
thank you for your help.

@ Robbie – ahhh don’t make me obsess and doubt my mac 285!! I’ll take your first response to heart unless you can somehow sell me on getting the OC version : )
In terms of training – I am a beginner having never used anything other than Color – will intermediate skip the 101 stuff I need to understand? I have yet to hear about any other training besides actual classes.
thanks for all your help -
thank you guys for the info – seems I am best off just sticking with the version I found.
now it’s time to learn – so excited to get I to this!
I am aware that fxphd has a training but I missed the semester so anyone know of some other training tutorials out or shortly to be released for a color guy who knows nothing about resolve?!
cheers

Margus you are THE MAN!!
i actually figured it out myself this morning but just saw your post and have to thank you for taking the time to do this!I gotta say i really love this community and forum – my girlfriend makes fun of me for being on it all the time – especially last night as I posted in bed from my iphone my now seemingly stupid question…anyways thanks to you and everyone who has the patience to help out newbies.
cheers
seanps. I have both my 23″ ACD’s plugged into the 285 but I do recall reading many times in this forum about how one has to switch monitors to the 120 for Color or maybe one of them? I will search the forum now to dig up the answer but is this still the case? I ask because I just launched a previous color project with the monitors plugged into the 285 and everything seemed fine – am I missing something here?
