Final touch and Synthetic aperture are both great pieces of software but I have one day to grade a 50 minute doc with 500+ edits – They are just too slow and the rendering takes forever – neither will give real time previews and there are xml export issues into the standalone versions. I am planning to use color finesse for the complex grades but the bulk of the work will have to be in FCP –
Thats why Im trying to configure a kensington track ball to work with the color wheels – problem is the keyboard short cuts which I have assigned to two buttons on the trackball dont do anything.
Wouldnt it be nice if someone did a CC control surface for FCP?

ah but do they work with fcp or just with color finesse or final touch?
I have colour finesse but its too slow to use on a whole programme – I need to control the 3way cc in fcp
If these surfaces do work – Id have one in a flash! -
Didnt realise you had to set video output to Blackmagic 1080i 50 ! Been trying to do it at sd 8 bit!

Im having a similar problem – I cant get a downconverted signal from my dual HD card to my Pal monitor.

When I layback the set up tone (as layed down in the dub) measures -18db and averages around the -10db mark.
You can adjust the tone generator and reference point from within the menus in the digibeta set up. If it’s been screwed with (as hire decks sometines are then try a factory reset (I think this is a menu too)

here in the uk it’s -18db – I believe the US uses -12db as a reference – this shows as 4ppm and 5ppm on a set of ppm meters

its 1080 50i – I want to monitor in SD vis the BND out on the HD pro card. This is connected to a Multibridge box which is connected to a Monitor Via component (the Monitor is a way away from the G5) I’m Running FCP 5.04 and the latest ver tiger and BMD Drivers. I believe the card will doenconvert thrrough the SDI outputs as well as the monitor outputs.

no frame size issues? And is there a playback bug with the external monitor in with fcp not playing?
