That’s helpful. I don’t know why the projects we do here are 720×540. At my last job, we worked in 720×486 and I never had these sorts of problems.

Now, I brought that 720×540 comp into a 720×486 timeline and scaled it down. Are there still going to be interlacing issues, and will Avid recognize this file without having to start a new Avid project?

I’d get Particular first, because it seems to be the most versatile. 3D Stroke after that.

Your tutorials have the best VO audio, hands down. They’re clear and crisp without any of the cheap mic hiss found on other sites. Most of the tutorials on the Cow are very high quality, production-wise, when you compare them to what else is available on the web. I don’t think a higher-quality mic is necessary. Oh, and the intro volume has always seemed fine to me, and I think the “moo” is fine, too. It makes me chuckle.

Shutterstock.com, my very favorite stock photo site, has tons of vector maps to choose from.

[Steve Roberts] “I think that the result of all this is: as Apple acquires and develops more applications, it becomes less a partner and more a competitor to companies such as Adobe.”

… “persuading” more people to try out Apple’s own apps like Motion and Final Cut Pro. It’s probably as much of a business move as anything else.

Duplicate the layer you want to stroke, and move it underneath the original layer. Add a Fill effect with whatever color you want to the bottom layer. Then add a Simple Choker effect and give it a negative value. This will expand the edges of the bottom layer, which is already filled with color.

This was one of Aharon’s tutorials a while ago, and it works wonderfully.

  • And for yet another option, use Zaxwerks’ GradientWerks plug-in. I just used it this morning on a project.

I experienced this a couple times in AE6.5, but not yet in AE7, though I’ve only used it for a week so far. When it occurred, purging my RAM cache (edit > purge > all) and/or restarting AE solved the problem.
