Then just resize is and adjust it so that it fits in the area needed. If you don’t need to track then you don’t need the corner pin filter.

I would suggest making a few test projects and rendering them with MP on and off. There were some issues a while back with Boris products that actually made somethings render slower on HT machines with MP enabled.
I am not sure if that has been fixed yet, but I would give it a try to see how it fairs.

I don’t have any problems doing what you explained. What version of RED are you working with? What platform are you on too?

July 22, 2005 at 7:34 pm in reply to: Horizontal lines during motion for imported image filesWhat are your import settings? Importing something incorrectly could cause issues as well. just a guess.

This is strictly a problem using RED as a generator in FCP.
Using the RED filter or transition in FCP should work fine. Also, as a rule of thumb. Anytime you have a graphic element move around the screen, you want to enable motion blur for that track.

You should contact their customer support line. It is a known issue and they can get you taken care of even though I didn’t see their hotfix on the website.
Until you get a hold of a fix, all you have to do is delete your FCP POA cache before launching FCP. It is located in Home folder > Library > Preferences > Final Cut Pro User Data > Final Cut Pro POA Cache. UNfortunately, you will have to do this everytime you launch FCP until you get the fix… but at least you can get your work done.

There is a little clitch where you have to have your cti in your timeline over the transition when you try to launch red from the viewer window. If the cti is anywhere else on the timeline, clicking the red banner will not allow red to launch.

oh man… i thought you were talking about the bcc page turn. Yeah, the ‘S’ and ‘M’ toggle it from a single input mode to a multiple input mode. I think the reason they are not accessible from the controls window is because you have to set your other layer you want to use (a color layer in your case) down in the timeline anyway so why not just have it there.

The X is from a downloaded timed out try and buy version of the product. If you downloaded the product and purchased it, boris should have given you an unlock code which you can enter when you apply a filter and click the register button.
Macintosh does not have an uninstall like windows does. You have to manually delet everything Boris from your drive but that will not solve your ‘X’ problem. If you legally purchased it and lost your unlock code, I would call boris tech support to get it straightened out. Using the unlock code that is specific to your personal install is the only way to rid yourself of the X.
If you did use the try and buy downloaded from the web but now have a cd… then delete everything boris from your drive and reinstall from the cd. I do not believe the install cd will over-write the downloaded version so you need to delete them first. If you need info as to where everything is located on your drive then email me at advres (at) gmail dot com and I can give you the locations for all apps you installed it for.

Just bring in a black still that is the comp size made in photoshop or something. Then apply it as the “alternate back” setting.
